Ministries
Preaching & Teaching
Ministry- Our desire is to reach people with the truth of God's
Word. This endeavor begins with Sunday School Classes which begin at 10:00 A.M.
every Sunday Morning. Here we take the Scriptures in study and seek to uncover
truths that will affect everybody in everyday life. All ages are involved,
beginning at toddlers through high school: college and young married, and the
adults.
Nursery- Available at all services.
Junior Church- Sunday Morning service for
ages 5-12. This service coincides with our adult worship service, and is filled
with games, songs and Bible lessons geared toward children.
Youth Department-
Junior & Senior High School- activities and sports competitions designed
for Christian growth and fellowshiping with other Christian teens.
Couples Class- Small
groups of married couples who join together to study Biblical issues pertaining
to marriage.
Caleb Club- Fellowship and activities for
people over 50.
Companions- Fellowship and activities for
married couples.
Singles for Christ- Actively meet monthly
to study God's Word and fellowship. Activities geared toward single adults.
Bus Ministry- An active ministry offering
transportation to services for those in need. An excellent opportunity for
involvement for anyone interested in serving.
Nursing Home Ministry- Some of the most
forgotten people of our society are the elderly. We have a very successful
ministry to convalescent and retirement homes in our community. Every Sunday
afternoon, many of our people meet for lunch and then take small groups to rest
homes to conduct services with singing, preaching and fellowship with the
elderly. We currently conduct services in five different facilities each month.
Men's & Ladies Fellowship- These
ministries are designed to give men and women a time of fun and fellowship with
other men and women of our church. Each meet at least once a month. among the
activities are: in-depth Bible Studies, seminars, banquets, picnics, dinners,
outings and various special projects throughout the year.
Scripture Memory Club- An ongoing, weekly
church-wide effort to hide God's Word in our heart.
World Wide Missions- As a Church, we
support many missionaries to all areas of the globe.
Christian Day School- This ministry was
born out of desire to give children a biblically based education. We currently
offer kindergarten for 3, 4 and 5 year olds: with the goal of adding additional
grades each year. We also offer a program caring before and after school to the
area public school students .
Visitation and Soul-Winning- This facet of
our church is organized for the sole ministry of reaching out to others. In
doing this, we seek to bring others to Christ for salvation, for comfort, or
for encouragement. This ministry gives opportunity for serving the Lord and
training Christians in sharing their faith or being a help to others through
encouragement.
Tabernacle Children's Ministries- It is our
heart's desire to minister to children, reaching them with the Gospel and
training others to be effective in evangelism and discipleship of children.
Sent out of our local church, Fred and Donna Aljets, home missionaries to
children; conduct Vacation Bible Schools, childrens meetings, and teacher
training seminars throughout Iowa. |
